Devotional Monday: Faithfulness

Jeremiah 29:12-13 "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."

So Today I want to talk to you about God's faithfulness, simply because this verse and Jeremiah 33:2 have been on my heart this week. Jeremiah 33:2-3 says,  "This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it---the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" God is telling us in this verse  and the verse above that if we seek him in prayer we will find him and he will meet us right where we are at no matter the situation.  In those times when we feel abandoned or alone he's right there with us letting us know that we are safe with him. Jeremiah 29:12-13 and Jeremiah 33:2-3 tug at my heart strings as I think about the many ways that God has been faithful in my life, i remember when I was a freshman in college and my roommate that I had at first had moved out because of issues she had with people on floor. She asked me to move with her but I felt in my heart that we were too different and it would be best that i just stayed in my current room. After she had completely moved out, i remember feeling so alone and praying that i would get another roommate that I could just not be roommates with but friends. Some time after I talked to my RA (resident assistant) and she told me that i would be getting a new roommate, i was so excited to meet her and i prayed that she would feel the same. That January she moved into the room and we ended up becoming good friends. God's faithfulness was definitely evident as I continued on with my freshmen year. I also see God's faithfulness not only in the good things that happen to me but the bad as well. My Uncle was diagnosed a year or so ago with a terminal disease called ALS (or Lou Gerick's disease), which is a disease that attacks the neuro system, and makes it so the person who has it cannot walk, talk...etc. Even though this is an awful disease and it's hard to see my uncle face so much in such a short amount of time, i see God's faithfulness in the fact that he's still alive right now because each day is a gift for him. I know that God's got it, and i trust that no matter what happens, he's got it all under control.  So if you could, just pray for my uncle and his family tonight. Pray for trust in God, i know that my cousins are struggling with this, so pray that they would put there trust in the one who loves them more than they can even imagine! So you see that no matter what happens in our lives good, bad, or ugly, God's got it all under control. God is faithful to the end. rest in the truth that Jeremiah 33:2-3 provides.
