Not According To Plan

Today I had my schedule planned out, I knew what I needed to do and what had to get done. This morning I went about by business and the day started out well. I made it to my interview on time, dressed for success, and prepared. It went really well and I left excited about my interning possibilities. Then I came home and got to the next order of business, find the bank, cash check, drop off envelope, get book from library, get food, go home, eat, do homework, pack. Well, needless to say, things didn't quite go as I planned. I got to the bank, had to pay a fee, they wouldn't let me do a money order because I didn't have an account with them so I left. Then I finally got myself some food and went off to the library only to get there and find out that it was closed. Oh yeah, its Easter Break. Things that don't cross a commuters mind, campus closes down on Easter Break. Shoot! Thus, the book I needed for my homework due tomorrow will remain inside the dark locked doors all weekend while I eagerly search the online catalogs for a substitute reading. Thankful for the Internet, I headed over to the social work building only to go inside and realize once again that it is Easter Break and everyone left. I found myself driving around to cross errands off my list only to end up back at home with little accomplished. On my way home I couldn't help but laugh and smile. Thinking of how silly it was that I forgot about Easter Break. I was also glad because I knew that even though I didn't get everything finished, I knew that they would all work out. Though it was a little frustrating because I planned on getting these things done the day before, but I was too sick to leave the house.

All of this to say that when God has a plan, he WILL make it happen. You see, I am under the impression that I was sick yesterday because God knew that the only way I would rest was if I had no choice in the matter. So yes, I did get to rest. I'm not quite sure what was going on with all of my unmet plans today, but I know that God's plan WILL be met.

Be encouraged, God's plan WILL prevail.

Proverbs 19:20-22 (NIV)
Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.
