Devotional Monday: Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." When I read this verse I am once again reminded of the importance of trusting in God, even when it's hard.

We all have this idea of how we think things in our life should go, where we are supposed to go next..etc. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the "plan" that we forget that God's got it all figured out and we don't have to worry so much. In these times in my life, I always go back to Proverbs 3:5-6, especially where it says, "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding," How true is this?

Sisters, his plans are always better than our own, no matter what. He always knows what's best and what's next for us in our lives. When we put our trust in him it is then that we find that everything works out in his time and in his way. Not to control us, but to show us a way that maybe we never thought of before or to push us down the path that he knows is best for us, even when we think our way is better.

Don't be discouraged if everything isn't going your way, but trust in the plans that God has for you, and it is then that you will find that rest in him that we so deeply need, but so often do not get. Rest in the truth that Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, and be encouraged as you go throughout your week to trust in his plans and not your own.
