Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
When I read the verse above I was immediately reminded of what God has been teaching me lately, to trust in him even when I'm not sure where to go next. The first part of the verse really resonated with me: "But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him" These past few weeks in my first semester of Grad school these words have been true in my life as I trust in his plan, and trust that he has me here for a reason. Having confidence in him.
But sometimes this trust is hard, it's hard to trust in his time and his plan. Especially when were in a season of waiting, or suffering, or we just feel lost all together, it can be hard to see beyond our circumstances. These seasons are hard, but sisters God has you and I in them for a reason.
Isaiah 61:2-3 says: to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
These words remind us that he turns beauty into ashes, and he takes our seasons of suffering, waiting, etc. and makes something beautiful out of it. As you go throughout this week don't forget to trust in his plan, and his time. And remember that he makes something beautiful out our seasons of life.
