I Am A Sinner

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ( I John 1:9, KJV).

'I am a sinner'

Okay, I know how we love to be humble about our salvation and honestly, we should be remembering that we are saved by grace, not by our own doing (Ephesians 2:9). Having being saved by God through grace in Christ Jesus, I think it is unfair to God and to Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross to still call ourselves sinners.

I will understand it when we say I was once a sinner but I AM?...no, no, no. Let's read a few scriptures.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians
5:17, KJV).

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians
2:10, KJV).

Jesus did not die only to have us label ourselves as sinners even after believing and receiving Him in our hearts. It's important that we know this. He shed His Blood that by It, we may be washed of our sins. If your sins (which in essence was what made you a sinner) have been washed, you are no more a sinner, you have become God's saint.

What God does when we come to Him is forgive us as well as, cleanse us of our iniquities. I know sometimes, our flesh will get in the way and we err, but a child of God will not remain in the place where he/she fell - now, that's the difference. A sinner loves to sin; God's saint hates to sin.

If a man or woman is born again, he/she becomes a new creature (in Christ). Remember, Jesus lives in the heart of a born again christian; why then, should we say Jesus is a sinner? Yes, Paul said, it is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me.

Dear ones in Christ, you are not a sinner, you are God's saint in Christ Jesus. The 'I' that sinned hangs on the cross, dead! Get it right, for as a man, or woman, thinketh so is he. Having given your life to Christ, do not any more think yourself a sinner that you do not go back to becoming one - loving sin and every crooked way.
